Have you ever wondered where your surname came from?  Or maybe why your ancestors had several different spellings like Smith or Schmidt, or Smythe? How some surnames you can trace to coat of arms or nobility?  Or maybe your surname may be related to an occupation like smith (blacksmith)?

The Genealogy Discussion Group will be discussing Surnames for the month of August.  This fascinating discussion will be touching on all those questions and more.
